Beginner Swim Lessons

kid swim lessons austin

Beginners I, II, III (6 yr to 17 yr)

In the beginners' classes, the kids are old enough to fully understand the importance of swimming and safety around the pool. They start learning more swimming skills in these classes and also swimming farther distances. Kids at these ages normally take instruction easily and are eager to learn.

Beginner 1

A class for ages 6 and up who have little or no prior experience in the water. Although these kids are older, we still teach them based on their learning pace as some of them may have a fear of the water. We will work on the basics of swimming such as kicking with streamline start with and without a barbell, comfortability with putting their face in the water and blowing their bubbles out of their nose, increasing breath control, and back floating for at least 10 seconds independently. The ratio for this 30-minute class is 4:1.

Swimmers Learn:
  • Independent swim of 20 ft.
  • Independent back float
  • Unassisted front breath
  • Safety skills
